Beneath The Tree

Postby Ehlonna » Sat Aug 09, 2008 12:19 am

I finally had some inspiration that wasn't a blatent rip of a modern song! Feedback appretiated as usual ;)

There have been many losses
And there will be many more
But we mustn't weep too long
For those who've gone before.
We celebrate the lives
Of those who have touched ours
With memories and songs
Beneath the tree.

Hang your tokens in her branches
Pour the wine to wet her roots
Sing your heart that she may hear you
Take her earth home on your boots

We are a people of the sword
The fight is in our core
But Knowledge too, and Pity
Were in the oathes we swore
Every Morrigan-led battle
That the Cerridwen forsaw
Is Blodwyn's burden
Beneath the tree

Hang your tokens in her branches
Pour the wine to wet her roots
Sing your heart that she may hear you
Take her earth home on your boots

Beneath the tree we meet and mourn
The Bears who ceased to roar
We remember who they were
And shall be ever more
For as you are the day you die
So shall your tale live on
In poetry and song
Beneath the tree.
