A dirge.

Postby Malebron MacTrew » Thu May 28, 2009 3:46 pm

As I walked out this market day,
My fortune for to find.
My purse my gold my family,
And all my peace of mind.

No peace I found but only war,
My soul it turned to lead.
I could not stir my feet no more,
I sought my gory bed.

But her hair it was as black as jet,
In ringlets hanging down.
She's our universal woman and,
her equal can't be found.
She's the bloodied hand of all our land,
And the lass of Loch Tay town.

The Raven's wing, it fell on me,
At the dawning of the year.
It whispered words of courage,
And took from me my fear.

My sword arm it returned to strength,
My shield arm just the same.
My feet they sought to stir again,
For glory and for fame.

But her hair it was as black as jet,
In ringlets hanging down.
She's our universal woman and,
her equal can't be found.
She's the bloodied hand of all our land,
And the lass of Loch Tay town.

And so I stand before you now,
My fated song to sing.
And as you take your leave this day,
Remember just one thing.

That shields may crush,
And swords may break,
The valiant may run.
But we are Caledonian,
We serve the Morrigan!

But her hair it was as black as jet,
In ringlets hanging down.
She's our universal woman and,
her equal can't be found.
She's the bloodied hand of all our land,
And the lass of Loch Tay town.
"...Shields may crush and swords may break, the valiant may run,
But we are Caledonian, we serve the Morrigan!"
