The Shield of Anu are a select group who act as bodyguards to the Lairds and other important dignitaries. They are expected to carry out their duties with loyalty, only relaxing when discharged.

They also act as security for camps at the gatherings of nations, gate guards (receptionists) and roaming patrols.

The Commander of the Shield is in charge of the Shield of Anu.

It is her responsibility to ensure the Lairds of Caledonia and other ranking persons have bodyguards as required (whether these be temporary or permanent).

Her second area of responsibility is Camp Security. The Commander of the Shield must ensure the “reception desk” is manned and there are roaming patrols of Clansmen within our camps at the main Gatherings of people. 

Also, the Commander is responsible for maintaining the physical security of the entire nation including it's ritual circles.

The Commander of the Shield is responsible for appointing new members to the Shield of Anu.
